In order to ensure the quality of steel deoxidation is performed during the last stages of steel making. Low carbon ferro chrome is a reliable deoxidizer and alloying agent commonly employed by steel makers during the deoxidizing process.
Just the right amount of low carbon ferro chrome can prevent the formation of carbides in iron. Low carbon ferro chrome acts as a nodularizer on nodular cast iron promoting the crystallization of graphite which makes it an important spheroidizing agent, particularly in the production of ductile iron, while at the same time being an important inoculant.
Low carbon ferro chrome is commonly used as a reducing agent during the making of ferro alloys. The iron alloy industry also commonly employs high silicon low carbon ferro chrome as a reducing agent during low carbon iron alloy production.
Atomized or fine low carbon ferro chrome is used during the suspension phase of the beneficiation process. It is also employed as a coating for welding rods by electrode manufacturers. And it is used in the production of high-performance alloys found in jet engines, gas turbines and power plants.
